What is a subscription to sailing?

As a participant of SailTime you have a subscription to sailing and exactly on the sailing yacht you would like to sail on. Based on your wishes, size, costs and availability. Subscribe to a boat of your choice.

You always use the same sailing yacht, as if it were your own ship. As a result, SailTime participants experience this as their own boat. That means they are sailing much more familiar and enjoyable. You know your own ship, you want to deal with this optimally and therefore also take good care of it. Just like the other participants and the SailTime people.

No need to worry about maintenance, replacement of materials, insurance, winter storage and the like, as with a private ship. And also no searches, bookings, administration, inspections and the like with a rental ship that might not fit just right.

It is about sharing (new) ships with a limited number of people and an organization that ensures the optimal sailing experience!

How does a subscription to sailing work?

Each ship is divided into 8 parts per month, divided among the different season ticket holders (Members) and an owner of the boat. Each ship has a maximum of 6 subscriptions. Through a simple App you book your time in the calendar. Your ship is waiting for you when you get on board.

With the simple “Embark” system you can check whether everything is as you expect. After that you go sailing and afterwards you can easily unsubscribe via the App. Simple, fast and reliable. Your boat is ready, if you are!

If there are still gratisdays that are not booked, you can book free extra days within 36 hours. You can also make requests to exchange with sailing time or make reservations on extra sailing time. You can also save sailing time of 1 month, when this fits in with the planning with the other members. This way you can also sail for a full week.

SailTime’s subboat system is really different from renting. When you join SailTime, you get access to 1 specific sailing yacht, which you share with a small club of other sailors. All sailors who have the same love for sailing.

Each participant has a guaranteed time on the water for a fixed amount per month. This includes everything, such as insurance, berth, maintenance, reservation system, cleaning and personal guidance from the SailTime team. No waiting times and always a boat that is as good as new, well executed and in perfect condition. Always ready for pure enjoyment on the water.

At the HISWA in Lelystad we happened to have a conversation with SailTime. We had always had the dream of having our own sailing yacht, but with so many other hobbies and pursuits, the possession of a boat did not seem practical. SailTime offered exactly the solution we didn’t even know we were looking for: sailing on a beautiful ship, but without the worries that come with full ownership.

For us it was important to first discover whether we really like sailing on a cabin boat as much as we think. We don’t have that much experience yet, and frankly we doubted whether we were “worthy” of such a beautiful boat. Bart immediately reassured us: just for people like us, SailTime is meant. He actively helps with planning trips, gives advice on nice destinations and warns of difficult parts on the route.

I really wanted to enjoy my time next to work. Sailing has always drawn me. SailTime offers the optimal way to achieve this. With a tailor-made sailing training, I am ready to go sailing next season with the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 380. Along with other subscribers, with friends, business associates and my family. SailTime is really THE solution for people who want to sail carefree.

Buying your own ship was not an option for us. The costs are simply disproportionate to use, and frankly: you have to be almost millionaires nowadays to make it profitable. Sharing a luxury, new boat via SailTime immediately felt like the right solution. We sail now as soon as we have time for that. With 2-and or cozy with boarders or other subscribers.
